Changes to Stamp Camp

Due to unforseen circumstances, the format for Stamping by the Sea has changed to a one day event.

You can still book into the hotel on Saturday as you were planning, if you were planning on sleeping over. We will NOT be doing any formal stamping workshops on Saturday, so you can go shopping at Collonades or along Beach Rd, you can go to the beach, or you can do some stamping at the hotel.

We (the organisers) will come down on Saturday evening to set up the room for the next day, meet everyone who is staying over and have some fun stamping time together.

On Sunday the camp will begin at 9am, and the first session will go for 4 hours. Each teacher will have a 40 minute session with you, and there will not be more than 5 people per table.

We will break for an hour for lunch and then have another 4 hour session after lunch, ending the day at 6pm.

THE COST OF $80 WILL NOT CHANGE.

For those people who live closer to the hotel, you will be able to arrive on Sunday morning and join in for the camp. For anyone who had to leave early on Sunday, we will make sure that you have ALL the kits and ALL the instructions and stamped pieces to complete each project.

So basically, for those people who want to sleep over on the Saturday night, it can be a two day event for you. If you want to go to the pageant and only want to come on Sunday, it will be a one day event. The weekend will be what you want to make of it.

Card Choices from Roz

Card by Kerrie-Ann Rootsey:
Roz says: "I love brown and pink, so this card caught my eye straight away. I LOVE the way Kerrie has used just enough white to make it totally pop. The sponging on the scallops finishes the card off beautifully, it is those little details that make such a difference. Really beautiful work, Kerrie-Ann!"

Card by Kay Koufalakis:
Roz says: "I adore this card. it actually made me gasp when I first saw it. It is just so unlike anything i have seen or done and is so unexpected. I just love it. LOVE everything about it!"

Card by Juliann Williams:
Roz says: "I chose this card because it is a great example of Juliann's work. She has an unbelievable sense of style and balance, with the perfect amount of attention to the small details. I admire her work so much, I wish we lived closer so I could attend some classes!"

PS FROM ROZ:
It was really, REALLY difficult to choose my three card picks, because everyone does such amazing work. I am so proud to be their manager, it makes me feel very humble indeed when I see the standard of work from the amazing people in my team. Thank you all!

Kerrie-Ann's Card Picks

Card by Jenny Soulsby:
Kerrie-Ann says: "The reason I like this one is that it is something different than the usual red and green Christmas cards. It is also quite simple in it's design and I like simple, suits my personality! Might have to do some in this colouring myself but will have to change the stamps as I don't have that one."

Card by Jacqui Corbett:
Kerrie-Ann says: "I guess the colouring is one of the reasons I like this card, the blue, green and "orange", although I'm not sure that is what the colour actually is, but it looks orangy to me, look good together and are colours I probably wouldn't have put together. I also like this stamp set because it is a bit different to the normal ones you get."

Kay says: "
I adore these in colours that Jacquie has used in this card, Wild rose is one of my favourite stamp sets and this card has been designed beautifully.

Card by Juliann Williams:
Kerrie-Ann says: "I like this one because it's just so sweet. I like the colouring and the way the wording shows behind the bird and aperture...a lot of thought went into making it I'm sure."

Shirley Barber's Card Choices

Card by Roz Veevers:
Shirley says: "Roz's card is showing off her skills. The cut out gift boxes look great and coordinate well with the background patterned paper."

Card by Kay Koufalakis:
Shirley says: "Kay's card too, shows off some real thinking outside the square. Loved the centre panels with the torn edges and the overlapping greeting."

Card by Jacqui Corbett:
Shirley says: "I like this one because it's well done with the wheel image and the different greetings at the top , then the use of the word punch and greeting at bottom. I think it's different and one I'd like to try."

Bio from Cindy Banks

Hi my name is Cindy, I am 38 year old, stay at home Mum, married to a wonderful man named Mark and we have two gorgeous cheeky boys Matthew and Jarrad. We live in Perth,Western Australia in the beautiful Swan Valley, which I have lived here my entire life.

About 7 years ago I discovered cardmaking and about 2 years later moved on to scrapbooking. I have taught at various scrapbooking groups and camps as well as taught cardmaking for about 2 years at a local community craft group.I stumbled across Stampin’ Up about 4 years ago through a lady I met at my kids school, she had a Stampin’ Up! catalogue from America. When she showed me the catalogue it totally blew me away and I couldn’t wait to order.

When Stampin’ Up! came to Australia I was really excited as it was now accessable. I actually didn’t consider becoming a demonstrator at first, b
ut when I realised that I had become obsessed with it I had to join. So I started searching the internet to find a bit more about it , when I came across Stamp of Approval which is Roz Veevers website, I contacted Roz, signed up immediately and now have been a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator and part of the Southern Belles team for just over a year now.

Even though I joined as a Hobbyist I found that I couldn’t just sit back and not introduce Stampin’ Up! to my family and friends. I have found holding workshops has been very inspiring and most of all alot of fun.I really enjoy the Southern Belles group. Our team leader Roz is so encouraging and very supportive. As the group is based in Adelaide and as I live in Perth I am still able to participate with the group. It is great to see the other team members beautiful creations and here about what they are up to.

Christine Rowland's Card Picks

Card by Michelle Beeby:

Christine says: "My next pick is this one. I am loving DSP at the moment and love what chelle has done with this.

Card by Christine Rowland:

Christine says: "And lastly I am going to pick my own card that I did for the pattered paper challenge. This was a piece of left over scrap that was from last years catalogue. I had done a scrapbooking page with it a couple days before and had this bit left. I love how this one ended up."

TEAM BIO - Kay Koufalakis

I'm married with two teenage boys. As they have grown older and more independent I've found I have some spare time. My Mum and Dad came to live with us for a few months and Mum introduced me to cardmaking. We started doing the rounds of craft shops and a whole new world opened up. We found ourselves at the Morphettville craft fair one day and that's when I discovered Stampin Up!

I joined up with the Southern Belles one year ago and I have had the best time. I've made heaps of new friends and I also find that making cards when I get home from work each day helps me to relax from my very stressful job.
At the moment I'm mainly a hobbyist however I have held a few classes. I'm really plodding along to have something to do when I finish up paid work.

Meantime I love doing all the challenges and chatting to all the friends I've made. I participate in a lot of swaps with other demonstraters all around the country. Stampin Up has really opened up a new world to me and I think the products are really great. However the most enjoyable part is having fun with the other team members, getting together on stampin days, when we play with each others "toys", celebrating other team members achievments and being with them when they need support.

Card Picks from Shirley Barber

Card by Juliann Williams:

Shirley says: "First word to come to mind; Stylish. The image layered onto black card is a dramatic element, while the clip and ribbon perfect embellishments. To me, what made it stylish was the striped background strip. It just softened the tone of the card slightly."

Card by Kay Koufalakis:

Shirley says: "Crisp , clean and bold. The torn strip behind the bold greeting 'Happiness' with the dark brads was what made the message crisp and clean but the nice touch was the rub-on flower borders. This, to my taste is that which made the card . It seemed like the artist added one last flourish "

Card by Jenny Soulsby:

Shirley says: "Here the background images are well placed , the colours complimenting each other . A simple greeting on white card , with inked edge and adhered raised on front , along with the double layered flower and brad centre really lifted the card. A card for Spring!"
